Pilar is the Head of legal and compliance for Cigna Global Health Benefits (CGHB) in Europe and oversees legal, regulatory and compliance matters for the global expatriate segment within her region.
Pilar leads our legal team and is responsible for the development and management of the legal, regulatory and compliance strategy of CGHB and has extensive knowledge of insurance, healthcare and global health and wellness solutions. She and her team work across many jurisdictions in Europe with implications in other regions and are on top of the complexities inherent to the Clients that Cigna serves around the world.
Pilar has more than 15 years of healthcare legal experience with 8 years at Cigna. She began her career in the insurance industry working for Allianz, and then moved as Senior Associated to an insurance law firm based in Madrid. From there Pilar joined Cigna in 2008 where she has held various legal roles of increasing responsibility. Pilar holds a Bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Navarra (Pamplona) with a Master in Corporate Law from the Instituto de Empresa (IE).
Pilar joined Expatise Academy in 2016.
